Important Guidelines for Split AC Installation

Split AC installation should be done properly to ensure optimum cooling and avoid frequent breakage. If the installation is done poorly, prepare yourself for maintenance problems afterward.

Hire a professional for the installation of Split AC if you do not have technical knowledge. To get chilled air and prevent gas and refrigerant leakage, follow these important guidelines for Split AC Installation.

Important Guidelines for Split AC Installation

Properly plan how the whole installation process will be carried out. Installation of two AC units requires care, outdoor unit is placed outside the room, whereas the indoor unit is installed in the room. Several factors should be given due importance when installing Split AC.

Wall Strength

Before installation, make sure the wall is strong enough to hold the Split AC. It would be better not to install AC on the water damaged, or cracked walls. Assess the strength of the wall before placing a burden on it.

Height

For optimum cooling effect in the room, it is better to put it at a height above 10ft. If not 10ft, install it above 6-7 feet above the ground. Adequate height will make the room temperature drop to the desired level quickly.

Space Between Wall & AC unit

Leave about 15cm space for indoor Split AC unit from the sides for proper airflow. If there is no space between AC and wall, the restricted airflow would not cool the room as desired.

Tilt Angle of Split AC Indoor Unit

The Indoor AC unit is mounted on the wall with the help of Aluminum brackets. Make sure the brackets are given the appropriate tilt angle, so, that the AC can be fitted at the said angle. It is done to allow unrestricted flow of water from the drain pipe.

Outdoor Unit Location

To ensure proper cooling, make sure the outdoor and indoor split AC units are well-mounted on the wall and away from direct sunlight and water.

Place the outdoor unit in an open space where there is enough room to dissipate heat from the condenser.

Outdoor Unit Placement

The outdoor unit of a split AC comprises the compressor, fan motor, condenser, etc. Insert this unit on a flat surface, if not inserted on a flat surface, the excessive vibration leads to breakage of compressor/condenser damage, coolant leakage, copper wires, etc

Distance Between Indoor and Outdoor Unit

Distance plays a vital role as the cool air flows in the copper tubes between indoor and outdoor units. Ideally, the minimum distance between outdoor and indoor units should be about 15 meters. To overcome cool air loss, the distance should be as minimum as possible.

Good Quality Copper Pipes

The copper pipes responsible for the transfer of cool air should be of good quality. To avoid leakage and frequent maintenance, invest in quality.

Putting it all together, Split AC installation is not an easy task, several factors need consideration to maximize performance.

Leave it to professionals if you do not know how to. Search online ‘air conditioning installation round rock tx‘ or ‘round rock tx air conditioning service‘ to hire the best air conditioning professionals.

Make sure the above-mentioned guidelines are being followed to optimize the cooling effect.
