Having trees inside your property perimeter can bring numerous benefits to your landscape and your overall wellbeing.

Trees are regarded as helpful and they easily improve your property’s curb appeal.

Their leaves and foliage provide shade and comfort from the hot rays of the Australian sun.

So, whenever you’re feeling tired or stressed inside your home or from work, you can always step out and let yourself rest under the trees and immerse yourself to be closer to nature.

With the aforementioned advantages, removing a tree from your property located in the North Beaches area can be a difficult decision to make especially if it has brought so much beauty and benefits to your landscape during its lifetime.

However, tree removal may be the best solution if a tree is already posing risks to the people, pets, and adjacent houses and properties under its shade.

6 Signs a Tree Should be Removed from your Property

As a responsible tree owner, you’re expected to look after your trees and spot signs that may signal you that tree removal is a necessary move.

The following are some of the signs and warnings that a tree should be inspected and removed from your property right away by professional arborists.

1. Tree Infections

Like people, trees are living beings that suffer different diseases too. One of the first noticeable signs that a tree should be removed is when it’s infected. It’s said that some indicators of an infected tree may include:

  • Discolored or misshapen leaves,
  • Soft and crumbly wood,
  • Cracks and splits in the barks,
  • Crown dieback,
  • Fungi and mold growth in the tree and its adjacent areas, and
  • Woodpeckers feeding on the tree.

If you happen to notice one or more of the abovementioned indicators, it’s strongly advised that you call a tree removal company such as Tree Removal Northern Beaches and others that provide tree removing services immediately in surrounding areas.

An infected or diseased tree can attract pests, which in turn would infect the other trees and plants nearby.

Moreover, an infected tree is weaker and is prone to breaking and falling down at any given time.

This may lead to property damage or even death to the person who’s unfortunate to have a tree fall down on them.

2. Visible Large Dead Branches

Another indicator to watch out for is the visible, large dead branches around your tree’s crown.

If you’ve noticed that most parts of your tree are already damaged or dead, the best option is to let a professional arborist completely remove it for safety reasons.

These large dead branches are prone to break off and fall which could seriously injure a person.

So, to ensure your and your family’s safety, as well as your neighbors’, it’s best to have these dead branches or the tree itself completely removed.

3. Damages Caused by Storms or Strong Winds

If a recent storm or high winds have damaged your tree, it’s best to have them completely removed.

In most cases, storm damage can result in the tree being completely blown away, pulled out, and Uprooted Tree from the soil, or experience stem and root failure.

Trees that experience these damages will potentially die off and pose risks to your home, your family, and the people around you.

4. Leaning Tree

A leaning tree isn’t necessarily harmful or dangerous, especially if it’s expected to spread out and grow that way.

However, if your tree suddenly leans on one side or angle, this may be a sign of a structural problem that may possibly worsen eventually.

Keeping a leaning tree in your property for too long can be dangerous as it may suddenly break and fall towards your house, fence, vehicles, or even on a person.

As part of managing your trees, regularly inspect their growing directions or hire a tree expert or arborist to do it for you.

5. Tree Growth Under Active Power Lines

If your tree is starting to grow under a post’s power lines, it can be hazardous to everyone nearby, not just to your house or family.

This tree can cause power interruptions and power outages to the entire community if it topples power lines.

Moreover, dead leaves and branches touching the live power lines can also trigger sparks and ultimately lead to accidental fires.

In that case, you need to contact a professional tree service and they’ll have it immediately removed.

6. Foundation Damage Attributed to Roots

Another sign to have your tree immediately removed from your property is when its tree roots damage your house’s foundation.

This is possible, especially if the roots are growing in the direction of your home.

As they grow, they’ll cause your foundation to crack and become unsafe. Not to mention that the damage may cost you thousands of dollars for repair.

Endnote

Dying or leaning trees don’t have to be removed if they’re located in the forest or anywhere away from people and structures as they serve as vital parts of the wildlife.

However, if any of these signs above is evident in a tree inside your property, it’s an indicator to have it removed.

This way, you can keep your home, family, and neighborhood safe from any risks brought by your tree.
