There are a lot of items in our house that end up in the garbage. Reducing solid waste is reducing the large amount of trash that ends up in the landfills.

During our early days at school, our teachers have imposed the value of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle, and most often than not, we do not follow them.

Do You Have A Massive Junk and Debris Problem Here Are Some Tips to Help You Out

They say that it is the most effective way to reduce garbage going into waste. Garbage that is left in landfills has an impact not only on the economy but also on the environment.

Due to the slow decomposition rate of some items, such as plastics, which takes a thousand years to deteriorate.

Many acres of land has been marked as useless as it cannot be used for recreation or commercial use.

Debris from construction also makes an impact on the landfills. So here are some tips to help you clear your junks without affecting too much of your carbon footprint.

Donate Your Junk Items

Throwing away your item is one of the reasons why there is so much garbage in landfills. Some linger there for thousands of years.

Instead of throwing your things into the trash bin, try to donate them to the people who might need them the most.

Before you do that, make sure that the clothes are in good shape and you are ready to let go of them.

Once you feel that you are ready to let go of your things, donate them to the people in need or a goodwill store or open a garage sale.

Not only do you let go of massive junk in your house, but you earn money from selling it. You know what experts say, another man’s trash is another man’s treasure.

Don’t Buy Too Much Stuff

Though it’s tempting to buy as many things as money can buy, on the other side, it’s just a waste of money.

Think of all the things you have purchased in recent months. If you are still using them, that’s a good buy, but if they are just there collecting dust, you can consider it a waste of money and time.

If you are serious about cutting down your junk, simply buy less stuff, and invest in something worth your money.

Re-evaluate your priorities. Be a mindful consumer and think about what you need, not what you want.

Recycle

If you have old glass bottles, aluminum cans, or excess debris from your construction site, or when you are renovating your house, don’t throw them.

Instead, upcycle them. Make it useful. Create a recycle bin in your home to place items that can be reused for other things. Most areas have recycling areas that accept old items.

Make it a habit to go to a recycling station more often than to a landfill. If you cannot upcycle your junk or debris, a skip bin is your friend.

However, before using a skip bin hire company, you must consider the size and type of the one you need and if it can offer a next-day delivery/pick-up. It can help you get rid of your junk instantly.

Utilize the Items You Already Have

If you decide to get rid of your massive junk and debris and want to incorporate minimalism into your life, you will be amazed at how junk and other debris can turn into something new.

Some items can be made as a wall or an additional mixture to the cement. So before throwing them out, delve into your junk and see what you can use up.

Boycott Plastic

If you have plenty of junk and most of them are plastics, it is time for you to re-evaluate your purchasing behavior.

There are hundreds of plastic bottles thrown every day. Most of them decompose over millions of years.

So they are still here even when human kinds become extinct here in this world. Don’t become one of those people who contribute more to the ever-increasing number of wasted single-used plastics in the world.

Not only you save a lot of money by switching to reusable items, but you will also be throwing less into the environment.

Contributing positively back to mother earth. Which our planet needs right now.

Built It Back

If you have a lot of debris from a construction, the smartest way to recycle them is to integrate it back into a new building or a new site.

Some of your debris may come in handy and useful. So before letting them go, make sure you have analyzed the things you really want to dispose of, to make sure that everything is used to its most maximum potential and you are not wasting a single grain of debris you get.

Team up and Be Involved

Go check in your area about how to properly dispose of your massive junk and debris. There are local communities that help homeowners or individuals in regards to their waste.

You will be surprised at how many local groups are passionate about taking care of waste management.

Keep in mind that if you start to make a difference, others will follow, and you can create a better world and a peaceful future for generations to come.

Not only should you see it in the short-term, but you should also consider the future because they are the ones that will benefit from what we are doing today.

The true cost of having massive junk is bad not just today but in the years to come if we do not do our part.

It is the consequence that we are currently experiencing right now. The strong typhoon, heavy floods, and other catastrophes have killed millions of lives.

While we always need to purchase things and there is nothing wrong with buying a few things, then and there.

You just need to limit yourself and go to just the acceptable limits. Do not let hoarding and pure gluttony ruin the future of the next generation.
