Open Showers

With bathrooms suddenly seeming smaller and smaller, people are looking for a way to make these spaces look bigger. Their solution to this is was an open shower, which incorporates practical use with the desire to save space. Plus, without the big shower doors narrowing down space, your bathroom will look all the more welcoming.

Marbleized Wallpaper

Have you noticed how more and more powder rooms nowadays have either marble walls or marble wallpapers? Well, that’s because marble has a way of making a place look more glamorous and elegant, yet contemporary.

Marble is associated with luxury – but the beauty of modernity is that you no longer have to spend your entire fortune on actual marble. This is why more and more people are going for wallpaper with marble patterns.

Plants

Bathrooms are very dull by their nature, and most of the time, they are in desperate need of some warming up. This is why more and more people are adding plants into the bathrooms to liven up these spaces and add a bit more color in these rooms.

However, you may have to pick some plants that have a higher resistance to humidity. Still, as long as you choose the right ones, your bathroom will look fresh and beautiful.

Black Bathrooms

In 2020, black seems to be the new grey. We used to see quite a bit of white and grey combos over the past few years, but this year, more and more individuals are opting for the elegance of black.

If you are hesitant to make your walls entirely black and turn your bathroom into a Goth spa, then you can at least choose black fixtures, mirrors, bathroom vanities, and other accessories. Also, the shiny black is good, but matte black is the most popular option.

Vintage Touches

We see many people opting for futuristic touches when it comes to their bathroom remodeling – but at the same time, there are many who prefer to look back and choose a vintage style.

Wood designs are the most popular for this trend – for example, a wood vanity instead of a porcelain one (obviously, a waterproofed one). This will make your bathroom seem more retro and all the more welcoming.

Bras Finishes

We know, the trend has been around for a while already – but that does not mean that people are done with it yet. Brass fixtures have a way of making the bathroom seem more luxurious – sort of like a sanctuary. This trend looks particularly good when you have a bigger bathroom, as it will make the place feel even more like a spa.

Integrated Lighting

Remember how most bathrooms in the past few years had only one light – and that was the overhead light? Well, integrated lighting has become quite popular in the past year, and more and more people are adding it to their cabinets, mirrors, and so on.

It provides a more diffused light, without compromising your visibility. Plus, it will make your bathroom look cozier and worthy of being called a “spa room.”

Partially Tiled Walls

Up until recently, people would tile all the walls in the bathroom, living nothing to chance. However, nowadays, fewer and fewer individuals are tiling the whole bathroom. Instead, they are tiling only the wet areas, such as the shower and the sink.

On the rest of the walls, they are placing waterproof wallpaper featuring a pattern of their choice or a simple paint, depending on their preferences.

Renovating your bathroom is a very exciting process – and if you follow the right trends, it should turn into your favorite place. A bathroom in 2020 should be as aesthetic as it is functional, which is why you need to choose carefully. Hopefully, our ideas came to good use.
