Were referring to double glazed windows. These are not just for cars anymore, and a lot of people have started investing in them due to several advantageous reasons, which we will look at below. But first, let’s touch on what exactly it is.

What Double Glazing is

In its simplest terms, this idea comprises two types, the single type, and the double type and in some cases even the option of triple glazed panels.

What this means is that window itself is manufacture to incorporate either one pane of glass, or two panes or three. Sometimes known as single/double-paned glass.

Other names you may find in the stores is “thermal” or “insulated” glass.

If it’s two or three, it means that there is one sheet of glass, then a “buffer” zone, and then another sheet of glass, so in between these are spaces called the buffer zones which provide a more efficient barrier against any external or outside temperatures than your typical single-pane that majority home comes with.

This gap is made of dead air and nothing else.

In countries where the climate is harsher and much colder, the triple option would be perfect.

The overall idea is to provide a more efficient way of keeping warm air indoors, and not letting in any cold air at all Further information about it can be found online as well.

Benefits of This Brilliant Engineering Idea

This is possibly one of the best inventions of all time and a lot of people reap the benefits.

No one likes being in a cold house during the peak of winter, and in the UK some winters can be harsh and last for months and are usually a combination of snow, hail storms, and rain.

Therefore, getting your windows replaced with these or when buying a new home, making sure they come with them, is possibly the best investment you will ever make for you and your family in many ways, mentioned below.

Stops the Fogging Up

During winter, when its cold outside and warm indoors, your windows, just like your cars, tend to fog up. Not sure about you but we like our light coming through the windows and bright aerated space is good for health as well.

We need to make the most of any sunlight or daylight that comes in our houses, especially during this season, as people tend to get depressed, and in fact, in the UK much of society suffers from a winter-related condition known as SAD (Seasonal affective disorder) or “winter depression” https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/seasonal-affective-disorder-sad/.

This one reason alone makes it worth the investment.

Lower Your Energy Bills

One of the most obvious advantages of these windows is the reduction of energy bills, that you will be very proud of. Sustainability is the way to go in the 21st century, and doing your bit for the environment is key.

Using less energy and finding more energy-efficient means around the home, will help keep our planet optimal. This is a good start for anyone.

As mentioned earlier because this design is engineered with panes of glass and air gaps in between them, they provide for better insulation, which means no air gets out or comes inside.

Keeping your house warm and thus you will not need to use any heaters, or hot air emitting devices which usually are the culprits when those electricity bills come your way at the end of the month.

The idea is to keep the hot air inside the home, keeping you more comfortable and freer to move around and do as you please. The bonus is these designs last for over 20 years and you can save on average about £2000 per year.

Less Noise from Outside

Did you know that this reduces outside noise as well? That’s correct. If your living in a busy and noisy neighborhood, this can significantly reduce the noise levels.

If you’re not in the mood to replace your glass panes entirely, you can opt for investing in a double glazed window fitter in Redditch to help you with some reasonable and cost-effective options, to help dissolve any unnecessary sounds from the outside, especially when you’re looking for some peace of mind.

We do love the sound of children playing and cars going up and down the road, but when it comes time to sleep, a quiet environment is ideal, and this brings you that.
