How to Mount a TV on Drywall

Mounting a TV on drywall seems like a big deal, but it is not that tricky in reality. However, you will need help in hanging the TV so that it stays secure.

If you are hanging the TV for the first time, learn about all the aspects of securing a TV on the wall.

Mounting on Drywall

Mounting a TV on drywall is a bit different from the ordinary wall. Yes, it is a bit tricky as well; the securing process demands a lot of focus.

To avoid the risk of crashing and breaking your TV, we have listed steps on how you can mount a TV on drywall.

The Position

First things first. You need to figure out the position and placement of the TV. Do not start with the marking; just determine the areas first. If you are mounting your TV, notice the minor issues as well.

If you have chosen a wall that gets a lot of afternoon glare, look for another set. Not to mention, you need to focus on height as well. The height depends on the size of your TV and eye level.

Binge-watchers do not like to strain their neck while watching their favorite series. Hence, it is better to decide on a height before marking. The standard size is 42 inches above the floor.

Tip: Look out for the electric outlets first.

Essentials

Before starting the actual process, it is better to know about the essentials and keep them with you. You might need to purchase a mounting kit separately.

Tip: Before buying a mounting kit, please refer to the weight and model of your TV.

Other than that, you will need a drilling machine, measuring tape, stud finder, leveler, and TV bracket.

Find the Stud

Finding the stud in your wall is mandatory as it ensures that your TV will be hung securely. Use a stud-finder to find the studs in your drywall.

Once the stud finder locates the area, quickly mark it with a pencil. It is better to use two studs, as it will increase the safety of the TV.

Brackets

Before placing the TV on the wall, you need to fix the brackets. Set your TV on the floor or counter, and attach the brackets.

Follow the manual and instructions on how to connect the frame. Find the holes, locate them at the back of the TV, and fix the bracket with screws.

Secure the Mounting

Brackets are fixed, and you are ready to mount your TV on drywall. Measure the bracket on the mount or corner tv mount and drill into the wall using a drilling machine.

Secure the mounting bracket with screws and fix them properly, or else your TV will lay flat on the floor.

Installation

The mounting bracket is fixed and secured to the studs with screws. Move on to the installation process. Hook and the TV bracket with your TV and slowly move backward.

The process must be slow as you are still figuring out the fixing process. Once you feel that your TV is completely secured, your job here is done.

Well, mounting a TV on drywall is not a difficult thing to do. All you need is proper essentials and a lot of focus. Read the manual and instructions before the installation process.
