A reserve is used as a second option when an emergency strikes, such as paraglider malfunctioning.
But, in paragliding, this would mean it will be your last option. Apart from being excellent in quality, it has to be always well maintained.
Only an expert or an experienced instructor is supposed to fold and pack the reserve before a flight.
