Triple-glazed fittings on a window are the ones that contain three-layer glasses or just two layers but with low-emissivity.

Emissivity is the object’s ability to emit thermal radiation or infrared. These types of window shields have higher insulation which is beneficial in winter times.

They are the ideal option for homes that are in colder areas.

You may find the price a bit higher than any other fittings in the market, but the triple-glazed windows are becoming the standard today.

They are now adopted in building codes in the Department of Energy in the US. There’s a push for homeowners to have hurricane-resistant building materials inside the home and the triple glazing is ideal for this.

Moreover, many manufacturers are using materials that are way beyond the standards of IGCC and ASHRAE, and they are also adopted in the 2012 IECC regulations.

Following the latest codes, these are required in many zones today and the Department of Energy is planning to expand this to many homeowners through its volume purchase programs.

While you’re basically adding an extra glass plane to your window, you may think that the processes may not be beneficial to your home. However, this could make a huge difference.

For many people, their main question is why should they try Fenster Glazing windows in the first place? The main reason for this is that everything will ultimately lead to more energy savings and heat insulation in their homes.

Here are other benefits that you can get with triple glazing:

  1. Reduction of Noise
  2. Warmer Houses during Wintertime
  3. Lesser Loss of Heat
  4. Reduce Condensation
  5. Hard to Break Ensuring Everyone’s Security and Safety
  6. More Added Value to the House

Noise Reduction

If you live in the metropolitan area, you may hear the noises coming out of the neighboring apartment whether you want or not.

Noise reduction can benefit you and everyone else in the household because you can sleep more peacefully at night.

If you install new windows, it’s best to consider triple glazing because they add thickness to the glass and spaces to the panes. You can get thicker glasses thrice and enjoy a quieter environment as a result.

Double vs. Triple Glazing

You may want to know about the difference that a single pane can do between double and triple glazing methods.

Double glazes are lighter, cheaper, and harness more energy from sunlight. Whereas triple glazing is more energy-efficient, stronger, durable, and has a lower u-value.

It’s easy to see that the double panes are the cheaper option, and they are lighter as well. For heavier windows, the triple glazing requires a strong fitting so that the entire weight doesn’t do any damage to the walls.

Thanks to modern architecture, the strong fittings may not seem to be a problem with many homes, but this is something that you should consider, nevertheless.

The right installer should inspect, and they should advise you about your options if you are in doubt.

Another important thing that you need to consider is the u-value of the panes. You can read more about the u-value on this site here. The lower the measurement of the u-value, the better.

The materials will serve as insulators and the home will be warmer during winter. The possible difference of the temperatures near the window of double glazes is about 16 degrees Celsius while the triple glazing can be up to 18 degrees Celsius.

Is this the Right Choice for You?

If you want to reap the rewards of triple glazes, you need to overcome the potential investment that you may need to part with first. It’s best if you can get quotes from legitimate suppliers and installers so that you can prepare the budget and they can finish the work as soon as possible.

Once the installation is finished, you can greatly reduce the draughts and there will be no condensation inside the home. The overall interiors will be well-insulated, and the energy bills will be much lower too.

Reduced bills can mean that you will slowly get the investments that you have shed on the initial costs of the installation. This may take years, but the benefits are well worth it.

If you are increasing your home’s value with triple glazing, you can also do as well and make your home appealing to many buyers.
