Covid-19 has made life considerably miserable to live. And now that we’re stuck in our personal place with little to no social crowd, we find it really hard to stay focused and be interested in the tasks at hand.

We feel drained from working a monotonous life cycle, we get distracted with the stuff that piles up in our bedroom and workspaces, we realize that our bedroom or workspace interior was poorly designed and that it could have been made better, and how we now feel less and less productive for wanting a new environment to work.

While we are now slowly allowed to go out and work outside of our house, would it be so bad to spend the money to fix our living space?

If we think about it, we’ll have to live in our house or apartments for quite a long time. And in order to be able to bear the idea of working at home entirely, you would want these tips below.

Simple Life Hacks to Improve Your Productivity

Get Better Lightings

You can always decorate your room with a little lighting. It can get exciting, but it is always best to maximize natural lighting for a better ambiance. A unique and good amount of lamp that provides you artificial light could never beat natural light.

There are health benefits from natural light that you cannot get from artificial ones. Letting the sun touch your skin will make your skin appear healthier and help elevate your mood, which will then immediately affect one’s productivity.

Simple, long-lasting, and biodegradable linen curtains are always a good option to compliment the simple room concept too. Sheer linen fabric does not block natural lights and helps reduce bright sunlight.

Repaint Your Room

It has been scientifically proven that the colors that surround you affect your mood and sense of purpose. There are colors that were agreed to have a certain effect in making humans feel better in different aspects.

Like how yellow triggers productivity and blue stimulates sleepiness. It’s almost as if the colors on your walls could communicate and provoke you to do and not do things.

Make sure you remove textured items and replace them with soft color tones. Whites are highly suggested as they help create a quiet environment and simulate a spacious room. You can opt for textured items in other variations of items like glass and pottery for your room decoration.

Make sure it’s not too big and not too much as well. However, scientific reports are not always accurate. You can always go for your preferred colors and lightings to make your living and working space more inviting.

Some people need darker colors to focus, while others work well with simple-soothing colors. Keep in mind that you would want to keep the room that way for a long time before deciding.

Embrace Minimalism

Try decluttering your bedroom and workspaces. A spacious room would help the mind relax and focus better. A cramped workspace might have been the reason you are constantly overwhelmed.

The less traffic and the more room there is for you to move, the more your life will improve for the better. Minimalism teaches people to leave the unnecessary and live with only what they really need.

You can start exercising minimalism by selling or donating your books and clothes. Later when you notice that your room starts looking and vibing better with less furniture and other belongings, you will start living happier and (certainly) more productive.

Minimalism encourages the minimal usage of things and while promoting a healthy lifestyle at the same time. It could also be a good chance for you to start living the eco-friendly way of living.

Invest in A Good Chair

Yes. Chairs can be expensive. But when we are stuck and only have our place (usually bedrooms) to work, that 30$ chair could start looking like an awful idea.

Spending a little more money for the sake of our comfort is never so terrible. After all, you could be spending more time sitting on Your Own chair after Covid-19.

When there isn’t enough money for you to invest in one, you could always upgrade your chair with cushions and fix your sitting position. You know your workflow, you know what to do.

Don’t Be Shy, Pick a Plant

While plants help reduce air pollution in your room, plants can really help you unwind from stress. Research proved that those with plants in their workspace have better performance in work.

There is a concept called biophilic design that collides the natural and built world. You might wanna familiar yourself with the concept.

Aromatherapy for Your Sense of Smell

Smells generate a better attitude as they invoke and boost one’s mood and productivity. When we are stimulated with a certain scent we like, we think creatively and act ideally to the fullest.

Some scents that help improve productivity include rosemary, peppermint, cinnamon, citrus, and lavender.
