However, let’s be honest with ourselves – professionals will best deal with this problem. There are special companies that have extensive experience in this matter and can advise on many methods, using special equipment.

Simply follow the link https://critterstop.com/ and consult with specialists. Having special equipment, skills, and extensive experience, they can save you from trouble so that you can enjoy the fresh air with your family and friends.

However, if you are thinking of holding off on this, here are some tips for you.

How To Protect Yourself and Get Rid of Mosquitoes In Your Apartment and House

The tiny size does not stop mosquitoes from turning summer holidays into a nightmare. The annoying buzzing makes it difficult to sleep, and the itching from the bites does not subside for several hours.

To save your skin from redness and your nerves from irritation, use several protection options at once. The good news is that there are options even for allergy sufferers and asthmatics.

Mosquito Nets on Windows and Doors

Perhaps the simplest, most common, and at the same time effective method. Using nets you can protect the windows and doors of your apartment, cottage, or gazebo. Usually, they are ordered immediately when installing new windows, or purchased after. A budget alternative is homemade “nets” made from a piece of gauze.

Ultrasonic Repellers

The devices emit high-frequency sound, imperceptible to the human ear, but irritating to pests. Ultrasonic repeller, a solution for those who:

  • does not tolerate strong foreign odors from repellents;
  • suffers from allergies.

There are portable models that attach to clothing, and full-fledged versions that operate from outlets.

This method is the safest and most harmless for both adults and children, as well as for pets.

Electrofumigators and Aerosol Products

The principle of operation of the fumigator is to evaporate a mosquito-p poisoning substance using a heating element. When using an electric fumigator, you should pay attention to the active ingredients in the plate or liquid.

If these are natural ingredients, a person can be in the room with the device turned on. Otherwise, the room should be ventilated after treatment. You cannot leave the fumigator in the outlet all night; just turn it on for an hour before bed.

If we consider natural electro-fumigators, then the harm from them is minimal. They can even be used in a children’s room, which cannot be said about their synthetic brothers.

When evaporating from the plates or spirals, substances that irritate the respiratory tract are released, which in turn can lead to allergic reactions in the form of lacrimation, sneezing, and coughing.

How To Protect Yourself and Get Rid Of Mosquitoes on Your Property?

Let’s consider several options.

Anti-Mosquito Sprays and Lotions

They are made from synthetic substances, so they should be used with caution. The period of active anti-mosquito action is usually 4-6 hours. They can be applied not only to clothing but also to treat surfaces – furniture, door frames, and gazebo walls.

It should be remembered that such products contain chemicals; when using them, an allergic reaction in the form of rashes and itching may occur.

If inhaled, the agents may cause toxicity ranging from mild nausea to vomiting and loss of consciousness. The medical community does not recommend using this method for pregnant women and children.

Spirals

They are compressed wood flour impregnated with insecticide. The spiral smolders and emits smoke, which repels pests within a radius of three meters. There are two nuances to use: firstly, light the spiral only in the open air, and secondly, follow safety precautions and place it on non-combustible materials (brick, ceramics, metal).

Natural Repellents Based on Essential Oils

You can make an analog of the repellent yourself by adding a few drops of citrus essential oil to your clothes. Ready-made sprays based on natural ingredients are also sold – you should choose based on the least irritating odor.

Anti-Mosquito Treated Clothing

Sold in clothing stores, fishing, and travel departments. The fabric is impregnated with an insecticide, and its anti-mosquito properties are maintained for up to 70 washing cycles. Clothes with long legs and sleeves at the cuffs and ankles are complemented by fasteners.

This method of protection is the most environmentally friendly and practical solution. Actively used to protect children. The products contain non-toxic synthetic repellents, which are in many ways analogs of natural substances.

Essential Oils

Mosquitoes don’t like certain scents, such as ylang-ylang, lemongrass, citronella, eucalyptus, lavender, and juniper. This can be used against them: just add 3-5 drops of essential oil to an aroma lamp a couple of hours before bedtime and a couple more drops on the edge of a blanket or blanket. It is worth considering that this method only helps in repelling, but not in destroying insects.

Smoke from Pine Cones

This method is only suitable for open spaces: at a picnic, at the cottage, or on a hike. Spruce, pine, or juniper branches burned in a fire emit smoke, the aroma of which repels pests.

Even if mosquito nets are installed on the windows, mosquitoes can still enter the apartment. The obvious methods are when opening/closing the front door, through cracks in loggias, and insects also hide in the folds of clothing.

Their favorite location is damp, dark places. Therefore, the main breeding ground is the basements of apartment buildings, where pipes often leak or flooding occurs due to violations during construction.

Once in an apartment, mosquitoes choose similar places with high humidity – for example, bathrooms and toilets. Insects can hide in the joints of walls and ceilings, in window cracks, in folds of curtains, and behind paintings.

Naturally, all of these can be excellent methods of controlling insects. However, it is the competent work of professionals that will allow you to get rid of mosquitoes once and for all.
