Once a year, you try to bring some changes to your home to make it look a little different and attractive for yourself and the guests.

This year, while renovating your house bath, you should install a framed shower door in your bathroom.

A glass shower door helps you give a modern touch to your restroom and make it elegant.

There are different styles and types of shower glass doors, such as framed, frameless, or semi-frameless shower doors.

All types of shower doors boost the ambiance of your bathroom and modernize it. The question is which type of shower door should you go for?

The frameless glass doors look elegant, but they need expensive hardware and thicker glass.

However, the framed glass doors are cheaper than the frameless units and are lesser in weight with the ability to bear more abuse.

So, over here, we are going to have a detailed view of the installation of a framed glass unit for your bathroom.

Tools Required for the Installation Procedure

Once you are ready to install the framed glass door, then gather the necessary tools for installation.

Be sure to gather up all the things, if you missed something and started the installation process, you will create a mess for yourself.

  • Power drill
  • Drill screws
  • Tape
  • Screwdriver
  • Hammer
  • Steel screws
  • Measuring tape
  • Anchors
  • Wood shims
  • Silicone glue
  • Rubber spacers

These are some tools that you must have to complete your installation process smoothly.

Steps of Installation

Steps of Installation

1. Measure your Shower Door Space Precisely

In the first step, measure the place where you want to install your shower door.

Measure it precisely by keeping in mind that any inaccurate measure will lead you to face anxiety and trouble.

Measure your Shower Door Space Precisely

Take your time and measure all the sides accurately. If you feel fear of any inaccurate measurement, then measure it twice.

The first step in the shower door installation is of sheer importance. If you commit a mistake in this phase, then there are only hurdles in the further procedure.

2. Make Holes in the Walls and Set the Side Rails

Mark the place where your side rails are to be placed. Take the power drill and make holes in the walls on your marks.

After drilling holes in the wall, get the silicone and rub it on a threshold piece. Ensure that the side rails are properly at their defined place.

Now, take the plastic anchors and insert them in the pre-drilled holes. Once you place the side rails, use the screws to perfectly attach the whole thing.

3. Hold the Stationary Door Using Rubber Spacers

Get the rubber spacers to hold the stationary side of your framed glass door. Rubber spacers help increase the distance in the middle of two objects that are to be enclosed together.

Using these rubber spaces on the stationary sides of your glass door, you will be able to restrain the water inside the shower door.
