When it comes to home improvement, the bathroom is often one of the first places we think about renovating. And for a good reason – a beautiful, updated bathroom can add value to your home and make your day-to-day life more pleasant.

But before you start shopping for new tiles or tearing out old fixtures, you need to answer one important question: have you considered installing a vanity?

How Much Should I Pay to have a Vanity Installed

Installing a vanity is a great way to add some much-needed storage and counter space to your bathroom. Bathroom vanity units come in a variety of sizes and styles, so you can find one that perfectly fits your needs.

Plus, they provide the perfect spot to store all of your toiletries and grooming supplies. In most cases, the installation can be done in less than a day, and the cost is relatively low compared to other bathroom renovations.

In this article, we’ll take a look at how much you can expect to pay to have a vanity installed in your bathroom.

What Factors Influence the Cost to Install a Bathroom Vanity?

There are a few factors that can influence the cost of having a vanity installed in your bathroom. This include:

1. Custom vs. Prefabricated

When it comes to bathroom vanities, there are two main types: custom and prefabricated. Both have their own set of pros and cons that you should consider before making a decision.

Prefabricated vanities are mass-produced, so they’re usually less expensive than custom vanities. However, you’ll have less control over the final product since it’s not made specifically for your bathroom.

You can expect to pay around $100 to $2,600 for prefabricated vanities. Custom vanities are made to order, so you’ll have more control over the final product.

However, they also tend to be more expensive than prefabricated vanities, roughly twice the price of prefabricated units.

2. Size of the Bathroom Vanity

The size of your bathroom will play a role in determining what size vanity you need. Vanities come in a variety of sizes, from small units that are just a few feet wide to large units that can be up to eight feet wide or more.

If you have a small bathroom, you’ll probably want to opt for a smaller unit, so it doesn’t take up too much space. On the other hand, if you have a large bathroom, you may want to choose a larger unit, so you have plenty of storage and counter space.

3. Backsplash Installation

When you install a vanity, you also have the option of adding a backsplash. This is a piece of material that’s installed behind the sink to protect the wall from water damage.

Backsplashes come in a variety of materials, including tile, stone, and glass. They can also be custom-made to match your bathroom’s décor. In most cases, the cost of having a backsplash installed will be included in the overall cost of the vanity installation.

However, if you opt for a custom backsplash, you may need to pay an additional fee. Generally, backsplashes cost around $600 to $1,350.

4. Type of Fixtures You Choose

There are a few different types of fixtures you’ll need to choose for your vanity, including the sink, faucet, and hardware. These come in a variety of materials, including ceramic, porcelain, bronze, and brass.

In general, the more expensive the material, the higher the cost will be. For example, a ceramic sink will be less expensive than a porcelain sink.

Likewise, a basic faucet will be less expensive than a luxurious one made of bronze or brass.

Type of Countertop

The type of countertop you choose will also play a role in the overall cost of your vanity. Countertops come in a variety of materials, including granite, marble, quartz, and laminate.

In general, the more expensive the material, the higher the price tag will be. For example, a granite countertop will be more expensive than a laminate one.

5. Installation Costs

Finally, you’ll need to factor in the cost of installation when determining how much your vanity will cost. This is usually charged by the hour and can range from $50 to $100 per hour.

It will take two to four hours to install a bathroom vanity in most cases. Therefore, the total cost of installation will range from $100 to $400.

As you can see, there are a few different factors that can influence the cost of having a vanity installed in your bathroom.

The most important thing to do is to choose the right size and type of vanity for your space and budget. Once you’ve done that, you can start shopping around for the perfect one.
