In order to keep your new kitchen cabinets in tip-top shape for years to come, it is incredibly worthwhile to regularly give them a good clean, and keep in consideration the elements that will keep them well maintained.

Refer to this infographic for actionable tips and steps to keep your kitchen cabinet doors clean and well maintained.

Your kitchen cabinet doors generally don’t need any harsh chemical cleaners to keep them clean. Some warm soapy water with a soft washcloth or a sponge will generally do the trick.

If you use a cleaner that is too abrasive, it may actually damage the surface of your kitchen cabinet doors. Simply wipe down every week or so with warm soapy water, and dry down with a dry cloth afterward.

Like many features of your homemade from wood, a buildup of moisture can cause irreparable damage. This also goes for your new kitchen cabinet doors.

To avoid moisture damage, wipe away any spills or moisture build-up appearing on your kitchen cabinet doors straight away. Always use a range hood or fan while cooking to avoid a buildup of moisture from steam.

Another thing to keep in mind is to try and keep your kitchen cabinet doors away from direct sunlight if possible.

If your cabinet doors are in a position of frequent sun exposure, consider investing in some blinds or curtains to block the sunlight. Prolonged sunlight exposure can damage your kitchen cabinet doors and fade the finish, decreasing their lifespan.

Make sure you keep all these factors in mind when installing and maintaining your new kitchen cabinet doors from The Kitchen Door Company. If you look after them, you will be able to enjoy them for much longer and you won’t have to replace them any time soon.
