After the filter system, the next in line for cleaning is the blower. It finds its place right after the air filter. The minute dirt, dust, and debris, that gets passed from the filter get clogged in the blower.

You must make sure to clean the blower along with its belts and pulleys to remove the dirt. Also, the panels that cover the air filter must also be removed in order to get through the blower assembly. The blower can be cleaned with a damp cloth also.

Clean the Vents

The gas furnace is attached to a venting system. The venting system with time also gets collected with a large amount of debris and dust. It causes ventilation blockage which poses a great threat to the inmates.

With the help of a large brush, start cleaning the vents by first removing the cover of the vent. Then clean the interior part using the vacuum cleaner.

Clean or Replace Furnace Ducts

The furnace ducts are easy to get damaged especially in the case of a forced-air furnace. Therefore, to avoid damage to the furnace ducts, regularly clean the ducts with the aid of a high-powered vacuum cleaner.

Once you are done with the cleaning process, the ducts must be covered to prevent air from escaping into the furnace.

Ensure Your System is Working Under Safe Conditions

Anytime anything can happen with gas appliances. It becomes the owners’ responsibility to take proper care and measures of the furnace.

Make sure to follow proper protocols while checking the gas furnace like turning it off before the cleaning, the circuits and power system are off, and more.

Keep it a routine to check for gas leaks as leaks can cause dangerous accidents.

If you find any leaks or doubt about any leakage, call the professionals at the very next minute to avoid any fatal accidents or disasters. Never take this issue lightly, as it may cause severe damage to you and your family.

Check the Thermostat

If you feel discomfort even after setting your thermostat right, then the problem may mostly lie with the thermostat.

If it is being in usage for a long period of time, then it will mostly need repair or replacement. Inspect the thermostat properly and seek professional help and replace it if the situation demands.

Inspection of the Fan

If you want to avoid severe repairing issues, then checking the whole system is a must and this includes the furnace fan too. Look out for visible damage and sound.

The dust and other materials can be cleaned but if the damage is spotted, replace or repair at the earliest. If left, it will lead to other major problems.
