You will find boxes in your garage that dates back a decade. All those things you wanted to get rid of years ago somehow accumulated in the garage. Continue reading this article to learn practical tips to redo your garage.

Clean The Garage

Before starting construction work, get the room cleaned first. Go through all the items in the box and sort the stuff. Make three piles of items: keep, Give and dump.

You will find there are items that you no longer need, like an old exercise bike that you bought during the pandemic. But now, the bike is only gathering dust, taking up valuable space.

However, you do not need to throw it away. You can either sell it to a buyer or give it to someone who might benefit from the bike. Having a garage sale might be a good idea to get rid of the items you do not want.

The Walls and Ceiling

Once you have the whole garage cleaned, it is time to dig in and start the renovation work. Make sure you go from top to bottom, meaning you start with the ceiling, the walls, and the floors.

At times, you may find the plaster in different places has worn out. You can put the plaster on before you paint the walls. All you need is cement and sand. You will find videos online on how to plaster your walls.

If, however, you do not have the time to do the work by yourself, or you want the experts to come in and do the work, you can contact the local contractors and ask for an estimate.

The Floor

Once the walls and ceilings are painted, it is time to focus on the floor. Garage floors are often cracked in places. When you place heavy machines on the floor regularly, it leaves a mark.

Often the car gets fixed in the garage, and different toxic things spill on the floor. These chemicals can ruin the top layer of the cement floor. To fix the cracks on the floor, use Crack Injection Epoxy.

This is a common and tested technique to fix the crack for the time being. However, if you want something more permanent, you may want to redo the whole floor. Going for an epoxy garage floor is a nice idea. You get a shiny floor that gives your garage a brand-new look.

  • Before you lay down the epoxy on the floor, make sure to mop the floor multiple times with water and soap. Once the soapy water is dried off, mop the floor with clean water. Let the floor dry completely for twenty-four hours.
  • Only after the floor is thoroughly cleaned and dried, you can use epoxy on the floor. Have at least a double coating to get that new shine on the floor.
