The Interior of the room is designed by considering the personality, profession, interest of the user and the area where the house is located & how its interior is designed.

Designing your place for winter is a lot trickier than summer & requires special considerations. Therefore, in this article, we have rounded up a few tips for you.

1. Mattress Pad and Fitted Sheets

When it’s cold, make your bed as cozy as you can. You can add a mattress pad on the mattress for additional softness and warmth. Several types of mattress pads are available in markets that are filled and sewed in different styles and materials.

Set the pad with a fitted sheet to keep it in its place.  Fitted sheets cover the mattress & its pad protecting them from dust mites and oils. Choose a sheet that is soft, breathable, and skin-friendly. It’ll provide you with free sleeping in any posture because there will be no chance of folding or tangling the sheet under you. It also gives a neat and clean look to your bed.

Most of the time plain fabric is used for these sheets to easily match them with all bedding types. But printed sheets are also available in the market & commonly used for the single or small double bed for children.

While buying the fitted sheet keep the exact size of the mattress in mind so that you can buy the right one.

2. Pillows and Cushions

Aha! Winter is here, add some warmer and fluffy effects around you.  Add a few extra pillows and cushions to help to make your bed stuffy so that there is little chance of a cold bed. The warmth of pillows depends on their fillings and cases.

They are also known as the decorative elements that help to design the headboard. Several types of embroidered, laced, patchwork, or printed cases are available in the market to help you add an aesthetic touch to your bed.

3. 15 Tog Duvets

There exist a wide range of duvets with varying thermal insulation. The warmth of the duvets is indicated by the duvet tog which is selected according to seasonal requirements.

In winters usually, 13.5 or 15 tog duvets are used. Plain and territorial areas require fewer tog duvets because there is less cold as compared to mountainous or frosty regions. A 13.5 tog duvet is best for the cool months i.e. from November to February.

13.5 above tog duvets are not suitable for the warm regions because the temperature does not fall considerably at night no matter which time of year it is. If you live somewhere, where heavy snowfalls for most of the day or you have a spacious stone-built or cottage style house, a 15 tog duvet is the best option.

Moreover, if you are a cold sleeper or suffer from shivering while sleeping, 15 tog duvets are the best recommendation for cold winter months.

You can buy beige duvet covers at the Oxford Homeware store at affordable prices. If the house is made with stones & does not have a proper insulating system installed in it, you can use as high tog duvet as you are comfortable with.
